Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a tailwheel endorsement take?
There’s no set time requirement, but tailwheel endorsement requires learning and demonstrating proficiency in ground handling, crosswind takeoffs and landings, wheel and 3-point landings, and go-arounds. Depending on your skill, expect 6-12 hours.
Insurance checkouts for Citabrias and Decathlons
We can do checkouts / help you meet minimum time requirement for insurance if you are buying an 8KCAB and usually 8GCBC. In some cases, insurance companies will also accept 8KCAB training towards 7KCAB, 7GCAA, 7GCBC, 7ECA and 7AC Citabria models. They all fly quite similarly in the pattern.
Can I rent a Decathlon solo?
We generally don’t rent out the decathlons for personal flight. If you want to learn to fly in a Decathlon from scratch, we can make that happen–but let’s discuss pros and cons. Depending on your specific goals, it’s likely not the most efficient choice.
